I have been in Mexico for 5 weeks, but I have only been working as the “Communications Officer” for 3 weeks since the first 2 weeks were spent taking Spanish classes, attending orientation meetings, and exploring the city with the 5 other new volunteers. So in these 3 weeks of work, I have written 4 articles for the house. You can read them if you visit the NPH Mexico website:
If you check out the website, I wrote the a articles on Emir, Ana and the graduation. I submitted an article on the recent anniversary celebrations, but it takes a while for the story to be reviewed and accepted by NPHI, the international office. It will probably be posted online in a day or so. I’ll also be submitting an employee story, a child story and a volunteer testimonial in the near future! Thanks to Jane for editing all of my stories! She is the former volunteer who previously had my position. She is a freelance writer and magazine editor, so she has major writing skills and is always willing to help me out. Thanks Jane! :)
Here are some pictures of me with some kids at the anniversary event in Miacatlán. I was the event photographer and the kids really wanted to try out the camera I was using. Check out the NPH website in a couple days to read the anniversary article to learn what it is all about.
